Today Room 13
went on an incursion in the BER room. Our RAC teacher`s name was Brendan. Then
Brendan showed us his friend Bob and took off his skull and we saw it`s fake
brain and we all touched it`s brain. Next our teacher taught us the four two
one rule and we already knew that from Constable Care. He chose Caleb to demonstrate
how to wear a helmet properly. Then we talked about that we always had to wear
a helmet when we ride a bike, scooter or a skateboard. Then we split up and did a puzzle and everyone did
great. When we finished we packed it up. Then we did a quiz on stuff we should
do before riding a bike. Next Brendan said that you need to wear something
bright so people that are in car can see us when we`re crossing the road. Then
Brendan rewarded us with a certificate and a tag that glows when it`s dark. Written by Alistair
Today, we went to an incursion in the BER room. It was all
about the RAC (Royal Administration Commission). We learned all about Road
Safety and our tour guide was Brandon. He showed us a PowerPoint all about
safety and what we learnt at Constable Care. We heard a song all about the
Brain. We learnt bike safety, car safety and where to walk if there is no
footpath. We also learned about Bob the skull and felt his brain. We did a
puzzle game and everyone did a good job. We had a quiz about safety gear and at
the end, we were awarded an RAC Little Legends Club certificate and kids can
sign up to be a Little Legend Member. We were also awarded a neon glowing bag
tag so car drivers know that you’re crossing the road.
The RAC Incursion was all about safety in the car, walking on
the footpath or furthest point from the road, and how to ride our bikes safely.
Brandon taught us all about the 241 rule. This rule is about how to put our
helmets on perfectly: 2 fingers on top of eyebrow to bottom of helmet, 2
fingers making a V on the side straps each side and 1 finger from the chin to
bottom strap of the helmet. One of our classmates - Caleb got up to show the
241 rule demonstration with a helmet with Brandon helping him to tighten it up. Written by Gautham
This morning my class and I went to an incursion and we saw an RAC
person and his name was Branden. He taught us about road safety. Branden showed
us his friend which was a skull head. Branden let us touch the skull head’s
brain. We learnt about the two, four and one rule. Branden took one of our
classmates which was Caleb. Caleb showed us how to put a helmet on. After Caleb
was done Branden put a song on his board that was named: brain, brain, brain. We
got to do a giant puzzle of a bicycle. My group was the first one to finish the
giant puzzle. The last step was to talk about what clothes you have to wear while
riding a bike, a scooter or a skateboard. My friends told some of the things
that you wear while riding a bike, a scooter and a skateboard. Let me tell you
some things you should wear: sneakers, knee pads, elbow pads and a helmet. Written by Drasika
